General Questions

What types of events can I use Sekilas for?

Sekilas works for weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and any celebration where you want to collect photos from guests in one private gallery. Simply choose your event type during registration and we'll customize the experience for your specific celebration.

What is Sekilas?

Sekilas is an event photo sharing platform that makes it easy to collect photos from your guests. Guests scan a QR code at your event and upload photos directly from their phones—no app download or account needed. You get a private gallery where all the photos are collected in one place.

How does it work?

It's simple:

  1. You register your event, choose a plan, and complete payment
  2. You receive a unique QR code and a private gallery link via email
  3. Display the QR code at your event venue (print it, put it on table cards, etc.)
  4. Guests scan the QR code and upload photos directly from their phones
  5. You access your private gallery to view, download, and cherish all the photos

Do my guests need to download an app?

No! Guests simply scan the QR code with their phone's camera, which opens a web page where they can upload photos directly. No app download or account creation required.

Do guests need to create an account?

No. The upload process is completely anonymous and requires no login or personal information from your guests.

Pricing & Plans

How much does Sekilas cost?

We offer two plans with multi-currency pricing:

Basic Plan - RM 99 / $29 / S$39 / ₹1,990 (one-time payment)

  • Up to 500 photos during your event
  • 30-day upload window (uploads close 30 days after your event)
  • Gallery access for 6 months

Premium Plan - RM 199 / $59 / S$79 / ₹3,990 (one-time payment)

  • Unlimited uploads
  • 90-day upload window (uploads close 90 days after your event)
  • Gallery access for 12 months
  • Bulk download as ZIP file

Currency is auto-detected based on your location and can be changed during registration.

Is payment required before I get the QR code?

Yes. Payment is processed securely through Stripe before your QR code and gallery are activated. This ensures we can provide reliable service for your event.

Can I upgrade from Basic to Premium later?

Yes! You can upgrade at any time for RM 100 / $30 / S$40 / ₹2,000 (the price difference in your selected currency). When you upgrade, you'll get unlimited uploads, your upload window extends from 30 to 90 days, and your gallery access extends from 6 to 12 months.

Do you offer refunds?

No, all sales are final. That's why we offer a 7-day free demo so you can try the platform before purchasing. We recommend testing the demo first, choosing your plan carefully, and ensuring your event date is correct during registration. If you need to postpone your event, please contact us at support@seki-las.com and we'll do our best to help.

Are there any monthly fees?

No! Sekilas is a one-time payment. There are no subscriptions, monthly fees, or hidden costs.

Bulk Purchases & Redemption Codes

What are bulk purchases?

Bulk purchases are designed for wedding planners, event organizers, and agencies who want to offer Sekilas to their clients. Instead of clients paying individually, planners can purchase multiple event packages at once at discounted rates and distribute redemption codes to their clients.

What discounts are available for bulk purchases?

We offer tiered volume discounts:

  • 5-9 events: 10% off
  • 10-19 events: 15% off
  • 20+ events: 20% off

Discounts apply to both Basic and Premium plans and are available in all supported currencies (MYR, USD, SGD, INR).

How do I purchase event packages in bulk?

Visit our bulk purchase page, enter your details (name, email, quantity, plan), and complete payment through Stripe. You'll receive all your redemption codes via email within minutes. The process is fully automated—no approval or waiting period required.

What is a redemption code?

A redemption code is a unique code (format: SEKILAS-XXXXX-XXXXX) that users can use during registration to activate their event gallery without payment. Each code can only be used once and is valid for 1 year from the purchase date.

How do people use a redemption code?

It's simple:

  1. Go to the Sekilas homepage and fill in their event details
  2. Click "Have a redemption code?"
  3. Enter the code they received from their planner
  4. Submit the form—their gallery activates instantly without payment

Can redemption codes be refunded or transferred?

No. Redemption codes are non-refundable and non-transferable between plans. Once a code is redeemed, it cannot be reused or canceled. Codes expire 1 year after the bulk purchase date, so planners should distribute them to clients promptly.

I'm a planner. How do I track which codes have been used?

Currently, we don't offer a planner dashboard. Codes are distributed via email after purchase. We recommend keeping track of code distribution manually. If you need help tracking redemptions, contact us at support@seki-las.com.

Photo Uploads

What file types are supported?

We support JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, and HEIF image formats. Videos are not currently supported.

What's the maximum file size per photo?

Each photo can be up to 20MB. This accommodates high-quality smartphone photos and most DSLR images.

Is there a limit on how many photos each guest can upload?

Basic Plan: Each guest can upload up to 30 photos. Uploads close 30 days after your event date.

Premium Plan: No per-guest limit! Guests can upload as many photos as they'd like during the 90-day upload window.

Both plans have a rate limit of 30 uploads per hour to prevent spam.

What is your fair use policy for Premium?

Premium's unlimited uploads are designed for normal event usage - even large celebrations with hundreds of guests. We don't impose strict per-guest limits like Basic (30 photos per person).

However, we monitor for unusual activity like:

  • Extremely high upload volume from a single device
  • Bot-like behavior or spam uploads
  • Non-event usage (using Sekilas as general file storage)

In rare cases of abuse, we may temporarily restrict uploads and reach out to resolve the issue. For typical events, even with 200+ guests actively uploading, you'll never hit any limits.

Can guests upload photos after the event?

Yes! As long as the upload window is still open (30 days for Basic, 90 days for Premium after your event date), guests can continue uploading photos. This is useful for guests who want to share photos they took days or weeks after the event.

What happens if we reach the photo limit?

Basic Plan: Once you reach 500 photos, new uploads will be blocked. You can upgrade to Premium at any time to get unlimited uploads.

Premium Plan: You have unlimited uploads for normal event usage. In the extremely rare case that you encounter any restrictions, please contact support.

Gallery & Storage

How do I access my gallery?

After payment, you'll receive an email with a private gallery link. This is a unique, unguessable URL that only you have. Anyone with this link can view your photos, so keep it safe and only share it with people you trust.

How long are photos stored?

Photos are stored for 6 months (Basic plan) or 12 months (Premium plan) from the date you activate your gallery. We'll send reminder emails 30 days and 7 days before expiration. After expiration, your gallery and all photos will be permanently deleted.

Can I download all photos at once?

Yes, if you have the Premium plan. Premium users can download all photos as a single ZIP file. Basic plan users can download photos individually.

What happens to my photos after the storage period expires?

Your photos will be permanently deleted. We strongly recommend downloading and backing up your photos well before the expiration date. We are not responsible for any data loss after expiration.

Can guests see the photos other people uploaded?

No. The upload page is upload-only. Only you (via your private gallery link) can view all the photos. Guests cannot see what others have uploaded.

Privacy & Security

Is my gallery private?

Yes. Your gallery uses a long, unguessable URL (UUID-based token) that is only known to you. The QR code your guests scan is different from your gallery link—scanning the QR never reveals your private gallery.

Who owns the photos?

You and your guests retain all ownership rights to the photos. Sekilas does not claim any ownership or rights to your photos and will never use them for marketing without your explicit written consent.

What information do you collect from guests?

We do not collect any personal information from guests. The only data we track is IP addresses for rate limiting purposes to prevent abuse. Guest uploads are completely anonymous.

Is payment secure?

Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. We never store your credit card information.

Technical Questions

What devices can guests use to upload photos?

Any smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and internet connection. The upload page works on iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android, and desktop browsers.

Does the venue need WiFi?

WiFi or mobile data is required for guests to upload photos. We recommend ensuring your venue has reliable WiFi and displaying the network name and password near your QR code.

What if guests can't scan the QR code?

You'll also receive a short shareable link along with your QR code. Guests can manually type this URL into their browser if they have trouble scanning the QR code.

Can I customize the QR code design?

The QR code is provided as a standard PNG image. You can print it as-is or incorporate it into your own designs (table cards, signage, etc.). Just ensure the QR code remains scannable.
